Peter Minet awards £25,000 to Funding Differently

Funding Differently is a collaboration putting small charities and community groups at the heart of funding decisions. Co-designed by the Voluntary & Community sector in Southwark, the approach shifts power, strengthens local organisations and tackles health inequalities at neighborhood level.

Peter Minet is awarding £25,000 to the collaboration that opens its third round in September 2025.

Tracey Fletcher, Chair of Peter Minet Trust, says:

Tracey Fletcher

We're really excited to be part of Funding Differently and to team up with Community Southwark, Partnership Southwark, and United St Saviour’s Charity. At Peter Minet, we’re committed to supporting more equitable funding for Black-led organisations, and our Board sees this as a proven way to put decision-making in the hands of local leaders who truly understand their communities. It also supports grassroots groups we don’t otherwise reach — groups that are doing vital work with communities facing all kinds of challenges and inequalities.

Over the last three years, Funding Differently has awarded 50 grants to 40 grassroots organisations, all with annual incomes of under £100k. 86% of grant recipients were ethnic minority-led groups.
