Press Release: Peter Minet Trust launches new approach to funding!

We're an independent place-based funder in Southwark distributing around £200,000 a year in grants in Lambeth and Southwark.

We’ve listened to charities in Lambeth and Southwark about their challenges and priorities and what they want from funders. We've found out more about what other funders are doing in these two boroughs.

We’ve finished our review and are open for applications.

We’ve moved offices to one of the areas we fund. We’re in a new Funders' Hub at Marshall House SE1 in Newcomen St,  just off Borough High Street.

Thank you to all of you who talked to us during our review – we really appreciate it.

Our new approach:

We now make unrestricted grants of up to £30,000 a year for up to three years to local, inspiring charities based in Lambeth and Southwark with annual turnovers of between £25,000 and £300,000.  We also work with local funders on strategic funding partnerships.

We fund charities that are rooted in their communities and bring communities together, helping residents overcome severe and multiple challenges. We want local charities to increase their resilience so they can continue to help residents overcome these challenges and be active in these communities.

We get to know local charities and trust the charities to know how to use the grant.

We offer the charities we fund networking and training opportunities, finding out first from charities what they need.

We work with other local funders and organisations to strengthen the voluntary sector in Lambeth and Southwark. We sign post charities to other funders.
